Purchasing & Shipping Officer Brett Morgan attended his 1st Cosmoprof. So what did he discover?
Three days at Cosmoprof was a bit like being a kid in a candy store. I was in awe of the size of this event. Despite the scale of the show and the plethora of products on display the event is well organized and stands easy to navigate.
My role at Beautiworx is Purchasing & Shipping Officer. As such my focus was to meet all my suppliers that are not Australia based with the goal to develop a deeper understanding of who they are, learn more about their full product offerings, lead times and any supply chain management issues.
Beautiworx Account Managers and I regularly discuss packaging needs for our customers being mindful of sourcing options that are new and innovative. At the show we discovered groovy add ons to packaging – for example sponge tips on tubes suitable for baby products, exquisite glassware both coloured and clear suitable for fragrances and plastic frosted bottles that looked almost like a perfect glass bottle.
We brought back to Australia as many samples as possible as well as brochures of various supplier ranges. These samples are available from our Account Managers. Over my time at Beautiworx the amount of imported products has increased significantly and will continue to do so making Cosmoprof an invaluable opportunity for the business.
